  • 52mm nut width

Set Up

Every Pavan is given a professional setup before it leaves our hands, including fret leveling and crowning to ensure the guitar plays its very best.

For nylon string guitars there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all playing action—the ideal string height depends on your style, technique, and preference. Flamenco and crossover players often want the strings as low as possible for speed and comfort, while a classical purist would find that same setup full of buzz.

That’s why we tailor each setup to your needs—we can go as low or as high as you like. If you’re unsure, we recommend a balanced setup of about 3.6mm on the low E and 2.8mm on the high E.

We can include extra saddles to give you the flexibility to adjust higher or lower later on!

Shipping & Returns

Buying a guitar should be stress-free. That’s why shipping is always free, and returns are simple. We provide a prepaid return label if your Pavan isn’t the right match . No hassle, no risk—just the chance to find the guitar that you’ll love.

End

The TP-30 is our top tier classical guitar, delivering concert-quality sound at an accessible price.

The solid spruce soundboards of the TP-30 are hand thicknessed. The bracing pattern consists of a treble bar with 6-fan braces. Paired with solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar has a firm, clear, and responsive sound with broad tonal range and great sustain.

The Pavan TP-30 features a solid East Indian Rosewood sides and back, an ebony fretboard, a reinforced neck, bone nut and saddle, along with a 650mm string scale.

Spruce soundboards are celebrated for their clear tone and distinct voice separation. This stems from their tendency to emphasize the primary octave overtone, above the fundamental note played. For example, when playing a G, the G, one octave above in the overtone series will be stronger than other partials. This clarity of spruce is particularly well-suited for music with complex contrapuntal or multiple voices, such as compositions by JS Bach. Guitarists play both spruce and cedar based on personal preference. I recommend listening to the provided videos/sound samples.

The soundboards of the Pavan TP-30 are built in a custom shop by skilled guitar makers specializing in handcrafting each soundboard. The soundboard is left thicker in the bridge area of the lower bout and gradually gets thinner towards the sides. Employing a bracing pattern of a treble bar and 6-fan braces, this design produces a solid, clear, well-balanced tone with remarkable responsiveness and beautiful tonal variety. This guitar embodies the vision I had when founding Pavan Guitars: providing an outstanding recital-quality instrument at a reasonable and accessible price for guitarists seeking an alternative to my pricier concert hand-built guitars.

When classical guitarists come to my shop to try out the Spanish guitars, they are often impressed with the Pavan TP-20 models but ultimately choose the Pavan TP-30 guitar. Even slight variations in sound can greatly influence experienced players.

Currently, I don't offer classical guitars priced higher than the Pavan TP-30 models. If I were to introduce a higher-priced model, it wouldn't deliver superior sound to the Pavan TP-30. Only a guitar crafted by an exceptionally experienced luthier might surpass it. And I speak from experience—I am both a luthier and a skilled classical guitarist.
