Hi there — William Prisloe here. Every guitar below is currently for sale, and each recording is the real thing: no added reverb of effects. Just casual takes with some talking and tuning left in so you can hear the guitar in context.
Most people evaluating a guitar by video don't have a recording background, and they shouldn't need one, but it helps to know what you're hearing. The room is built to stay out of the way: a custom ceiling cloud, four 6ft x 4ft gobos, and a rug keep echo from coloring the sound, so what you hear is the guitar, not the room. A matched pair of Gefell M300 mics in close XY placement captures the real detail and texture of the guitar, not the artificially wide, "ethereal" sound most classical guitar recordings lean toward. The mix is left as natural as possible, no reverb, no heavy processing, so what you hear is close to the instrument as it was played.
