The TP-30-AC is a popular model among jazz and crossover players who are looking for a nylon-string cutaway that sounds great both live and in the studio.

Like the TP-30, the TP-30-AC is constructed with a solid spruce top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides. The guitar produces a sound that is firm, clear, and responsive with broad tonal range and great sustain.

The TP-30-AC features a 650mm string length and a comfortable 50mm nut width, with a cutaway design for easy access to the higher frets.

Please listen to the sound samples and read our reviews below. You can call us at 607-387-3875 or contact us here if you have any questions.

Spruce soundboards are renowned for their clear tone and distinct voice separation. This is because spruce tends to emphasize the primary octave overtone above the fundamental note played. For instance, striking a G will result in a stronger presence of the G an octave higher in the overtone series compared to other partials. The clarity of spruce is particularly suited to music with intricate contrapuntal or multiple voices, such as compositions by JS Bach. While some players favor spruce and others cedar, it ultimately boils down to personal preference. I encourage you to listen to the provided videos/sound samples.

The soundboards of the Pavan TP-30 AC are meticulously crafted in a custom shop by experienced guitar makers, each one tailored by hand. The soundboard is intentionally thicker around the bridge area of the lower bout, gradually thinning towards the sides. Utilizing a treble bar and 6-fan braces for bracing, this design yields a solid, clear, well-balanced tone with superb responsiveness and delightful tonal nuances. This guitar epitomizes what I envisioned when I founded Pavan Guitars: delivering a top-tier recital-quality instrument at an honest and affordable price point for guitarists seeking an alternative to my pricier handcrafted concert guitars.

Classical guitarists who visit my shop to explore Spanish guitars often find themselves greatly impressed by the Pavan TP-20 models, yet ultimately opt for the Pavan TP-30 guitar. Even slight differences in sound can significantly sway discerning players.

Currently, I don't offer classical guitars priced above the Pavan TP-30 models. If I were to introduce a higher-priced model, it wouldn't offer superior sound to the TP-30. Only a guitar crafted by an exceptionally skilled luthier might surpass it. And I should know—I am both a luthier and a seasoned classical guitarist.
