The Pavan TP-30 AC guitar has a cedar top, solid East Indian Rosewood sides and back, ebony fretboard, reinforced neck, 50mm nut width, bone nut and saddle, and a 650mm string scale.
Cedar soundboards are known for their warm sound. Cedar also brings out high-frequency overtones and partials which lends itself to a shimmering brightness, almost like a little bit of built-in reverb. Guitarists often debate between spruce and cedar, each having its own following. It all boils down to personal preference, so take a listen to the videos/sound samples.
The Pavan TP-30 AC boasts soundboards crafted in a specialized workshop by seasoned guitar makers. These artisans handcraft each soundboard, maintaining a thicker profile in the bridge area of the lower bout that gradually tapers towards the sides. Utilizing a bracing pattern featuring a treble bar and 6-fan braces, this design yields a robust, clear, well-balanced tone with exceptional responsiveness and delightful tonal nuances. This guitar epitomizes what I envisioned for Pavan Guitars—an outstanding recital-quality instrument offered at a fair and accessible price, appealing to players seeking an alternative to my pricier concert-grade hand-built guitars.
Visitors to my shop, particularly classical guitarists, often find themselves captivated by the Pavan TP-20 models but ultimately opt for the Pavan TP-30. The subtle differences in sound significantly resonate with seasoned players.
Currently, I don't offer classical guitars exceeding the price range of the Pavan TP-30 guitar models. If I were to introduce a higher-priced model, it wouldn't necessarily sound superior to the TP-30; only a guitar crafted by a highly skilled and experienced luthier might surpass it. I speak from experience as both a luthier and an accomplished classical guitarist.
