Set Up

Every Pavan is given a professional setup before it leaves our hands, including fret leveling and crowning to ensure the guitar plays its very best.

For nylon string guitars there’s no such thing as a one-size-fits-all playing action—the ideal string height depends on your style, technique, and preference. Flamenco and crossover players often want the strings as low as possible for speed and comfort, while a classical purist would find that same setup full of buzz.

That’s why we tailor each setup to your needs—we can go as low or as high as you like. If you’re unsure, we recommend a balanced setup of about 3.6mm on the low E and 2.8mm on the high E.

We can include extra saddles to give you the flexibility to adjust higher or lower later on!

Shipping & Returns

Buying a guitar should be stress-free. That’s why shipping is always free, and returns are simple. We provide a prepaid return label if your Pavan isn’t the right match . No hassle, no risk—just the chance to find the guitar that you’ll love.

End

The TP-30 is our top tier classical guitar, delivering concert-quality sound at an accessible price.

Like the TP-30, the TP-30-64 is constructed with a solid cedar top and solid East Indian rosewood back and sides to produce a firm, clear, and responsive sound with broad tonal range and great sustain.

A standard 650mm string length and 52mm nut width can be challenging for players with smaller hands or hand issues. The Pavan TP-30-64 has a 640mm string length and 50mm nut width, making it easier to play.

The Pavan TP-30-64 model is available with a solid cedar or spruce top. The Pavan TP-30 has solid East Indian Rosewood sides and back, an ebony fretboard, a reinforced neck, bone nut and saddle, and a 640mm string scale.

Cedar soundboards are known for their warm sound. Cedar also brings out high-frequency overtones and partials which lends itself to a shimmering brightness, almost like a little bit of built-in reverb. Guitarists play both spruce and cedar, it is really a personal preference as to which you may prefer. Please listen to the videos/sound samples.

The soundboards of the Pavan TP-30 are built in a custom shop where experienced guitar makers specialize in handcrafting each soundboard. The soundboard is left thicker in the bridge area of the lower bout and gradually gets thinner towards the sides. The bracing pattern uses a treble bar and 6-fan braces. This design gives a firm, clear, balanced tone with excellent responsiveness and beautiful tonal variation.

When classical guitar players come to my shop to try out the Spanish guitars they are very impressed with the Pavan TP-20 model guitars but they end up purchasing the Pavan TP-30 guitar. The slight difference in sound makes a big difference to the experienced player.

Presently I do not offer classical guitars priced higher than the Pavan TP-30 models. If I were to offer a higher-priced model they would sound no better than the TP-30.  Only a guitar built by an excellent experienced Luthier might sound better. I should know I am a Luthier and an accomplished classical guitarist.
